Nelly is a joyful girl who lives in Turkana County in the Northern part of Kenya. She lives together with her parents, two sisters and three brothers. They live in a communal land in a grass thatched house. The family fetches their water from a shallow hole whose water is not clean and safe for child’s consumption as it predisposes him to waterborne diseases. The mother is the breadwinner of the family who depends on mat weaving as an income generating activity. They also practice charcoal selling as a supplementary income project. However, the family’s annual income is below 360 US dollars which hardly meets their basic needs. This challenge has forced the family to struggle hard to get food, medical care, school supply, house supply and other necessities. Nelly goes to a nearby school in their village and she likes English activities. She likes playing rope skipping and with her friends during free time. According to her parents, Nelly would like to be a teacher and help the less fortunate. Your support will bring a lasting change to Nelly’s life.
