Joel is a jovial boy who lives in Turkana County in the Northern part of Kenya. He lives with both parents, one sister and one brother in a remote village, in a shanty hut made of palm leaves. His mother makes brooms, while the father is hawker and sells clothes and other household items. They also supplement their food source through subsistence farming. They cultivate on communal land and plant cowpeas and sorghum. Total family income is below US$360, which is not adequate to meet family needs. Joel is enrolled in a nearby school and he enjoys counting and coloring activities. He plays with homemade toys and likes making new friends. His parents wish is that he becomes a doctor when he grows up. He helps his parents in cleaning their compound. His parents sought for support in our office to help Joel attain his goals in life. Your support will bring a lastion change to the entire family.
