Dorcas is a humble girl who comes from the northern part of Kenya, Turkana county. She lives with her mother, father and four brothers. They live in a palm thatched mud house in a communal land. They fetch water from a river whose water is not clean for human consumption therefore pre disposing the child to water borne diseases. Her mother is a housewife who is the primary caretaker of the family. The breadwinner is the father who works as a casual labourer in peoples farms. However, the annual income derived from this economic activity is below 360 US dollars which is not enough to sustain family basic needs. Her father therefore resolved to approach the office for assistance. Dorcas is enrolled in a nearby school. Dorcas likes playing with improvised toy dolls with her friends at home. She would like to be a bank manager when she grows up. While at home, she likes helping her mother carrying light house chores such as fetching water and collecting firewood. Your support will bring a lasting change in her life and the entire family.
