Calistus is a brilliant boy who comes from the northern part of Kenya, Turkana county. He is raised by his parents. He also has Two brothers and two sister. The family stays in a palm thatched mud hut in a communal land. They fetch water from a river which is saline and not clean for human consumption thus predisposing the child to water borne diseases. The mother is the breadwinner of the family who depends on basket weaving activity. The family also practices small scale farming of sorghum in a community land as a livelihood supplementation economic activity. However, the annual income generated from this activity is below 360 US dollars which is not enough to meet the family basic needs. His mother therefore decided to approach the office seeking for assistance. Calistus is enrolled in a primary school where he is in grade three. He likes drawing and colouring. He likes playing football as his favourite sport. He would like to be a teacher when he grows up.While at home, helps at collecting firewood.
