This is Jesus. He comes from a needy family. The father is a farmer that earns approximately 4 USD daily. The mother takes care of the children at home. Jesus has two sisters. These low-income parents struggle to put the food on the table. Jesus speaks Nahuatl and Spanish. He attends primary school, at an early grade. This family lives in an adobe house that is not connected to the sewer system. They dont have a stove and refrigerator. Jesus diet is based on coffee, milk, bread, cookies, tortillas, beans, noodles, some boiled vegetables, beef broth and chicken, when possible. Despite adversity, he is thriving and weighs 18 kg and he is 1.12 m tall. Jesus helps to prepare the altars and offerings during the Day of the Dead and is proud of his traditions. In addition, he will attend workshops that encourage his creativity and complement his education.
