His father is a seasonal local carpenter while the mother is a backyard vegetable gardener who found it very difficult to upkeep the children and their aged grandmother. Morlai is attending in one of the primary schools in the community but lack most of the materials needed for quality education. His love for education is admirable and always competes with his peers in whatever they learnt in school on that day. Molai sleeps on a straw mat on the floor beside the bed of his grandmother.
