Hilemeskele was born in Balaya a place found in the Southern Regional State.  Hilemeskele lives with his parents and he has three siblings. His father is a breadwinner and he earns meager income from farmer work that is not sufficient enough to cover all family’s basic expenses.  His mother is a housewife and she takes care of the family.  He is in primary school and his favorite subject is English. The child enjoys playing football with his friends. He helps his parents by collecting fire wood. Hilemeskele and his family lives in a small house made up of wood and iron sheets.  The local community where the child lives lacks quality education, health facilities, transportation facilities and they walk long distances to get water from contaminated river.  No sanitary facilities and most of the houses are one room with no partition for sleeping and cooking.  They plan to change their lives by being engaged in income generating business.
