This is Sherlyn. She is a friendly, playful and joyful girl who has much fun playing with dolls and plush animals. She grows up in the city of Oruro, western Bolivia, which is famous for its carnival. She is a bundle of joy and wonder. She lives with her mother, sister and grandparents in a small house made of adobe walls and corrugated metal roof. They lack decent sanitation services. Her mother is the main provider. She is a dressmaker. They make around US $ 109.00 per month. The income that the family receives is minimal and insufficient to meet all of their basic family needs. Poverty is a daily reality that most Bolivian children face throughout their childhood, as they do not have enough resources to thrive. The story of this child can follow the same pattern if we do not do something to change it.
