Mohamed stays with his parents in a small farming village located near a small river in the extreme north of Sierra Leone. They dwell in a round hut of mud and sticks with thatch roof without proper sanitation and toilet facility. Peasant farming is the main source of livelihood for the family with an annual income estimated at US $230.00 which could not address their basic needs. Mohamed a smart a boy and loves playing with his peer group members to and after school. He shares bedding with his parents on a local bed spread with a savannah grass mattress.
