Amel is a young girl living in Central Java Province. She is a second grader who walks to school each day, and her favorite hobby is playing with dolls. Amel dreams of becoming a teacher, with math as her favorite subject to learn. Her father works as a gas station operator, earning approximately US$140.00 per month. When possible, her mother contributes to the family income by working as a vendor, bringing in around US$52.00 a month. Amel lives with her family in a small, modest house made of bricks and adobe, with ceramic flooring that can feel cold at night. To ensure that Amel receives the care, education, and protection she deserves, we are passionate about welcoming her into the ChildFund program.
