Maria Guadalupe is happy living with her parents and her brother Jose Manuel. The father, like most people in the region, works hard as a small scale farmer. The mother is a homemaker. The familys daily income is approximately less than U.S. $9. They have serious problems to cover all their most urgent needs. They speak the Totonaco dialect and Spanish. They live at some relatives dwelling. It consists of one single room, a kitchen, and a bathroom. It is made of wood with a cement floor. It has no services. Their furniture consists of two chairs, and they sleep on a mat. They do not have the essential household appliances. Their daily meals are based on coffee, tortillas, beans, and eggs. They very seldom eat meat or chicken. Maria Guadalupe is happy attending preschool and she is learning the vowels and numbers. She is now in good health, her weight is 15.900 kgs. and her height is 1.03 m. Her favorite tradition is the Day of the Death because her family decorates the Altar with flowers. She loves to play with dolls. Your kind help will make a great difference in her daily life and development.
