Winfred enjoys listening to her mother singing for her. She is calm and eager to learn anything new. She attends formal education and has passion for studies. She never wants to ever miss school but because she has no scholastic materials and not paid up school funds, she is forced to stay home. She lives with her mother, grandparents and siblings after her parents separated. They sleep in a simple grass thatched house made of mud walls and wattle with packed dirt flooring. These houses have no provision of windows and no ventilators. They live in North Eastern Uganda where subsistence farming is the major economic activity. Her family grows crops such as cassava, sorghum and groundnuts majorly for food consumption. The yields are oftentimes of low quality due to over use of the land and worsened by changing weather patterns. This has given the family less option of providing themselves with the basics in the family like clothing and good shelter. Your consideration to sponsor this girl is highly welcome.
