Salima is a very vibrant and active girl. In school, she excels in science and her favourite subject is English. Her dream is becoming a nurse. Salima stays with her Grandparents and other relatives in a single rented room in the central parts of Uganda. Her grandmother operates a stall of vegetables to earn a living on which the entire family survives. However, given the location in which the business is located and the capital in the business, she earns very little income to meet the needs of family. This is also coupled by the big number of households members who depend on her for survival. All this affects the child as she is not able to attend school regularly due to health and education needs which are not met by the family hence affecting her performance in school which is likely to hinder her from attaining her dream of becoming a nurse and saving lives of the people. With this kind of background, any form of support in terms of sponsorship will help to create hope in the life of Salima and her entire family.
