Neneh is a very beautiful girl. She lives with her parents in a four bedroom mud bricks adobe house with unpaved floors and no toilet facilities. The father is a small scale farmer while the mother is a backyard vegetable gardener where she struggled to upkeep the children. Neneh Umu is a cheerful child and is attending in one of the primary schools in the community but lack most of the materials needed for quality education. She sometimes goes to school barefooted. Neneh Umu sleeps on a straw mat on the floor beside the bed of her mother. She is a promising child and likes to be in the company of friends while singing and dancing traditional music. Her dream is to become a nurse one day to help in the fight against infant mortality in her community.
