Thanuja fondly called as Thanu hails from an abjectly deprived family. Her father works as a laborer in order to maintain the family. His hard work fetches him a very low income of approximately US Dollar 956 per annum, which does not suffice to tide over the financial problems. The mother being a housewife, is at her wits end trying to solve the mounting problems, but there is hardly any sign of improvement in their living conditions. Finally in utter desperation, they sought aid from this project in order to provide a better future for this child. Thanuja is attending primary school.
