Rugiatu is a beautiful and cheerful girl who lives with her parents and grandmother in a village in the northern region of Sierra Leone that lack electricity and some basic amenities. She comes from an extenden family. She has a brother and sister. She attends the wesleyan primary school in her village. Her best subject is reading. The family dwell in an unfinished mud house that is roof with zinc and it normally leaks during the rainy season. She sleeps with her sister in a bed that is made of stick and mattress made of savannah grass. Subsistence farming is their main source of income. The income raised after selling the producet from an annual harvest is used to take care of the basic necessities of the family. The family annual income is around US $ 340.0, which is inadequate for the family to survive.
