The family sleeps on a locally made beds with poor beddings. Their house leaks during the raining season which exposes the whole family to catching cold. The roof of the house requires replacement every year. Their village lacks safe drinking water and sanitation. Her father is a trader. He is also engaged on farming to increase the family income. The mother practices backyard gardening growing groundnuts and other vegetables that she harvests and sells as an additional income to help take care of the home. Marie Possie attends the village primary school. She always goes to school and enjoys playing balancing ball with her friends.
