Lorrane is a young Brazilian girl who lives with her parents, Antonio and Elane, and with a younger brother, in a rural community in the interior of the state of Ceara. Their simple home has brick walls, ceramic tile floors and a clay-tiled roof. It is self-built and has a tiny bathroom. Water is carried from an artesian well. Antonio works as a local schoolteacher and earns very low wages. Lorrane is calm and studious. She helps around the house mostly by running messages and sweeping the floor. Her favorite pastimes include playing tag and hide-and-seek. She has a cat she is fond of. Lorrane is considered to have good health, in spite of the poor living conditions and diet. She attends a public school and loves Art. Her wish is to be a doctor when she grows up. Through your support Lorrane and her family will have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, education and nutrition.
