Manty and her mother live in a small farming community located in the northern region of Sierra Leone. Her father is very old and could not do any farming activity. She is in the care of the mother who cultivates rice and other supplementary foods such as corn, beans and potato which earn her an annual income of less than 250.00. Some of the reasons behind her low production are unpredictable weather condition and primitive farming techniques. She is a smart girl and in the evening, she studies with her sisters using a solar light. She walks on foot about half kilometre to and from school. She is talented in singing traditional songs in her local dialect. Manty enjoys playing with dolls and modelling images on the dirt floor with her peers. She is in good health. Support through ChildFund sponsorship will be of great blessing for Manty to achieve her dream of becoming a nurse in future.
