Pedro is a young Brazilian boy who lives with his parents, Davi and Joveline, and with one sister, in a small rural community located in the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is rented, has brick walls, rough cement flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. Davi works as an assistant bricklayer (doing odd jobs) and the family receives a small family allowance from the federal government. Pedro is intelligent, cheerful and affectionate. His pet name is Nana. He likes playing tag and hide-and-seek in the company of other kids his age. He has a cat he is fond of. Pedro is considered to have good health, in spite of the poor living conditions and diet. He attends a local public preschool where he is making good progress. The family is needy and through your support Pedro and his family have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation and education.
