Salome is a brilliant young girl who hails from Northern part of Kenya, Turkana County. She stays with both parents. Salome has four brothers and five sisters. The family lives in their communal land in a palm thatched mud hut. They fetch water from a nearby community hand pump. The water is salty and not safe for child’s consumption as it predisposes her to waterborne diseases. The mother is the breadwinner of the family who depends on casual work done in the community. However, the annual income derived from this economic activity is below 360 US dollars. Her mother decided to approach the office to seek for assistance in raising their child. Salome likes skipping rope with her friends. She attends a nearby school and her favorite subject is environmental activities. Salome aspires to be a teacher when she grows up. Her goal is to help the less fortunate when she grows up. While at home, she helps her mother to fetch water and clean their compound. Your support will bring a lasting change in her life.
