Why ChildFund?

For over 80 years, ChildFund (formerly known as Christian Children’s Fund) has focused on strengthening families and community structures that make up a child’s environment. In over 20 countries, the individual sponsor-to-child relationship supports this work, with sponsor funds pooled to improve life in the communities where sponsored children live. ChildFund knows that each denomination has a unique doctrinal statement and theological approach, so ChildFund programs purposely do not include spiritual formation. We focus on meeting the physical needs of every child to allow for healthy partnerships with ministries like yours. ChildFund focuses on these six core issues that affect children who live in poverty:

The Letter

When I was growing up, my dad was a church planter in rural Westminster, MD, so I know the sacrifice and dedication that it takes to work in ministry. With the demands of the local church, my Dad lived in the constant tension between wanting to lead his local congregation well, while also loving the poorest of the poor around the world.

Fundraising for Your Community

ChildFund relies on partners all over the world and is able to witness the incredible impact that local churches have in a community. Therefore, ChildFund wants to financially invest in the growth of your ministry! For each child that your congregation sponsors, ChildFund will make a donation to your church to further the good work that you are doing in your community! Some ways that churches have used this money include:
