Children in Kenya are struggling to access the basics of life amid ongoing torrential rains and floods.
In March 2024, Kenya’s seasonal rains began as usual – but this year, the rainfall was unusually heavy, bringing violent storms, flash flooding and devastation to many communities. Dozens of people have been killed in the floods, while tens of thousands more have lost homes and livelihoods. As people search for food and clean water, often in overcrowded conditions, illnesses are also on the rise – creating an overlapping health and sanitation crisis.
In any disaster, children are the most vulnerable. ChildFund is working with our partners to distribute food and hygiene items, assist families in their search for shelter and provide support to local health facilities as they treat an overwhelming number of illnesses and injuries. Please give generously to support the children and families in most urgent need.
